How it begins

Today we are working on this massive raw Welsh slate block.

Measuring around 6m long, 1.4m wide and around 100mm thick and weighing over 2 tonnes , this piece will be cut and polished and the end product will be a beautiful Welsh slate hearth.

Our Skema Denver saw is one machine that we can’t live without. The state of the art touch screen and laser alignment system provide precise cutting.

This system uses a laser beam to accurately mark or guide the cutting head, ensuring that the cut is precisely aligned with the desired shape or line which enables us at LLD Slate to fulfil our customers request perfectly providing exact measures.
