At LLD Slate we pride ourselves on crafting premium headstones and memorials by offering the finest quality materials and workmanship whilst working closely with our customers to ensure that wishes are fulfilled to create a perfect memorial to honour family members that have passed.

Welsh slate has been used as headstones for hundreds of years and is known for its durability to harsh weather conditions with lower water absorption than other materials.

The natural beauty of Welsh slate creates a stunning contrast for intricate carving. They offer several advantages over imported headstones, due to their resilience, natural beauty and local sourcing which reduces the environmental impact associated with transporting imported materials. We support the local quarrying industry as all of our Welsh slate slabs are sourced from local quarries within 32 miles radius to our workshop in Chwilog, North Wales.

Over the years we have established strong relationships with experienced memorial masons around the country, we can recommend knowledgeable Memorial Masons who are experts in working with stone and creating beautiful carvings that look amazing on a Welsh slate headstone.
